A way to meet travelers around the world. Tap Take Off and FarAway finds someone else taking off at the same moment. You get a boarding pass with their name and country, and a chat opens between you.

Departures happen at set times every day. The Globe shows the next one, in your time zone. Everyone takes off together, so it’s your best chance of a match. Take off once and keep the search open: the app tries again every minute until you match. Turn on the reminder and we’ll tell you a few minutes before.

Yes, any time. Fewer people are searching then, so it can take longer, or nobody may be flying. The Lounge works whenever you are.

A match lands when you both send at least 3 messages within a day of matching. A landing earns you miles and, the first time you land with someone from a country, its stamp in your passport.

It pairs you with someone taking off at the same time. With no filters, that can be anyone, anywhere: Surprise Me.

Yes, in Settings → Matching Preferences: a gender, one or more continents, or both. Filters cost tokens, and only when they find you a match: gender 2, continent 3, both 5, however many continents you pick. Searching and cancelling are free. With Skyclub, filters are free.

The app asks first. You can keep the filter you can pay for, take off without filters, or buy tokens.

A Skyclub perk. Your take-off is moved up the queue, so you’re usually matched before people who took off around the same time without it.

Trips you add under Profile → Travel Plans. A trip is private until you make it visible. Then travelers whose trip to the same place overlaps yours can find you, seeing the month but never the exact dates. Seeing who’s going your way is a Skyclub feature. Hide a trip and it disappears from those lists at once.

Yes, unless one of you has blocked the other. Their boarding pass says you matched before. A pair lands only once, so meeting again earns nothing new.

Pick a language in Settings → Translate incoming messages to, then tap Translate under any message. You can translate 15,000 characters a month for free, and 10 times that with Skyclub. The allowance starts again on the 1st.

With Skyclub, voice messages can be shown as text, in any language, up to 120 minutes a month.

Ticks show when a message is delivered and when it’s read. Turn off Read receipts in Settings → Privacy & Security and nobody sees when you’ve read their messages. You then don’t see theirs either. Delivered ticks still show.

In the chat menu, Unmatch ends the connection for both of you and removes the conversation from both lists. They aren’t told. You can match again later. To stop someone reaching you for good, block them instead.

After 5 unread messages from one person we stop buzzing you until you open that chat, or until they’ve been quiet for an hour. Notifications about trips arrive silently between 22:00 and 08:00 your time.

Small gifts for people you meet, bought with tokens (1 to 3 each). Send one from the chat menu. It arrives wrapped, and the other person opens it. It then sits on their souvenir shelf, which they can hide from their profile.

A public place to ask a question or start a topic. No trip or match needed. Your country’s posts have their own tab, beside Worldwide. Tag a place and people from there are told about your question.

Anyone can reply. You can post once your account is a day old or after your first landing. Up to 3 posts and 50 replies a day. Links, @handles, phone numbers and email addresses aren’t allowed.

7 days in the feed. Posts and replies then stay on your profile for 90 days, and are deleted after that. Choose who sees them in Settings → Privacy & Security → Lounge history.

Tap Chat on their reply. Only the person who posted can open a chat, and only with someone who replied.

A photo, with an optional caption, that’s shown for 24 hours. Add one from Chats → My status. Free accounts share one a day; Skyclub up to 30. You see who has viewed it.

You choose in Settings → Privacy & Security → Status privacy: anyone who comes across you, your friends, or the people you chat with. In each list you can untick particular people.

Each landing earns miles, measured as the distance between your two countries, and a stamp the first time you land with someone from a country. Miles add up to your rank, from Passenger to Globetrotter. Stamps show on your profile; your miles and rank only on your own. Nothing here can be bought.

A weekly board of miles for your friends, your country and the world, from Monday 00:00 UTC. Each landing counts up to 2,500 miles, so any talk across a border counts about the same. Everybody who landed that week is on it, by photo, first name, flag and plane, with their miles, landings and countries, unless they switch it off in Privacy & security. Each Monday the top 3 in the world and in each country get a Top flyer stamp, and the world's top 3 get tokens.

A pair lands only once, and up to 5 landings a day are rewarded. Nothing is earned with someone you’ve blocked or reported, and a report or block later takes the rewards back.

In Edit Profile, once every 30 days. Your username is also your personal link, flyfaraway.app/u/yourname, which opens your profile in the app.

Things from the shop that make FarAway yours: a plane and trail for your flights, a map style, a welcome effect for people who land in your city, a photo frame and a passport cover.

How many people are flying from and to each city right now, and which countries it talks to most. A city only lights up once at least 3 people are active there, and counts are rounded. Nobody is ever named.

If you share your location, you count towards the nearest big city; if not, towards your country’s main city. Hide your online status and you aren’t counted at all.

Filters, paid only when a filtered take-off finds you a match, and things in the shop: planes, trails, map styles, welcome effects, photo frames, passport covers and souvenirs. Nothing in the shop costs more than 10 tokens.

They never expire. Everyone starts with 5. When someone joins from your invite link, or finds you in their contacts, you each get 5 more, for up to 5 people a month.

Free filters, priority take-off, travel plan matching, the Supersonic plane, 10× translations, voice messages as text, invisible mode, up to 30 statuses a day, five more app icons and a profile badge. Skyclub doesn’t include tokens. The shop is the same for everyone.

Start it in the app whenever you like, for example the week before a trip. It doesn’t begin when you sign up. Google Play asks for a payment method but charges nothing for 14 days. We remind you two days before it ends. Cancel in Google Play, under Subscriptions, before then and you pay nothing. There’s one free trial per Google account.

In Google Play, under Subscriptions. Skyclub lasts to the end of the period you paid for. Deleting your FarAway account doesn’t cancel it.

Purchases are billed by Google Play, and Play’s refund policy applies: ask for one in Google Play. If a token purchase is refunded, the tokens are taken back.

Sign in to the same FarAway account, with the same Google account on the phone, open Skyclub and tap Restore purchases.

FarAway must be installed from Google Play, and Google Play must sell in your country. In Russia, for example, Google Play takes no payments at the moment.

Choose how you’d like it: WhatsApp, Telegram or a text message. If one can’t reach you, the code may come another way, so check all three. Wait a minute, then ask again or pick another way. Or tap Continue with Telegram and share your number there: no code to wait for. A number can receive 3 codes a day.

No. On your own phone, Continue as (your name) signs you back in with a tap.

Yes, once you’ve added and confirmed an email in Settings → Personal Details. On the sign-in screen, tap Sign in with email instead and we email you a code.

Settings → Personal Details → Change phone number. We send a code to the new number, and from then on it’s how you sign in. Your home country follows it.

Yes, in Settings → Privacy & Security. It’s optional.

The app shows why, and until when. If you think it’s a mistake, tap Contact FarAway on that screen or write to support@flyfaraway.app, and a person will look at it again.

Settings → Delete Account. Your profile is hidden at once and erased after 30 days. Sign in before then to restore it. Messages you sent stay in the other person’s chat, shown as from “Deleted User”. Can’t open the app? Use flyfaraway.app/account-deletion.

Add people you’ve matched with, or found through your contacts, to keep chatting and see each other on your map. Requests are in the Friends tab.

Only if you choose it: the phone numbers in your contacts, to see who’s already on FarAway. Names, emails and everything else stay on your phone. We keep only the people we find, and you can remove them any time in Settings → Sync Contacts. Deleting your account removes them too.
