Terms of Service
By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use FarAway.
The short version
- One account per person, and you are responsible for it.
- Be decent to the people you meet. Breaking the community guidelines can get you suspended without warning.
- What you post stays yours. Chat photos disappear after 24 hours.
- Payments go through Google Play. Cancel there any time.
- You can delete your account whenever you like.
Who can use FarAway
You must be old enough to use FarAway in your country, and at least the minimum age stated in our Privacy Policy. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
Community guidelines
FarAway connects strangers. That only works if it is safe. These are the rules we enforce, and breaking them can get your account suspended without warning:
- No sexual content involving minors. Ever. We report it to the relevant authorities.
- No harassment. No threats, hate, or contacting someone who has blocked you.
- No unsolicited sexual images. Sending explicit photos to someone who did not ask is grounds for removal.
- No impersonation. Do not pretend to be someone else, and do not use photos that are not of you.
- No spam, scams, or solicitation. Including advertising, recruiting, and requests for money.
- No illegal activity. Anything against the law stays off FarAway.
Reporting and enforcement
You can report or block anyone from a conversation. Blocking stops them reaching you and stops you being matched again. Reports are reviewed by a human. When someone is reported, the photos and disappearing messages in their conversations with the person who reported them are kept past their normal deletion until the report is decided, so there is something to review.
Reports involving someone under 18 keep that evidence after the decision too, as the law may require, and it may be passed to the relevant authorities.
Enough independent reports against one account will suspend it automatically, pending review. We may also suspend an account directly.
Your content
What you post stays yours. You give us permission to store and show it to the people you send it to, which is what makes the app work. Photos shared in chat are deleted automatically after 24 hours, unless a report needs them as evidence (see Reporting and enforcement).
Paid features
Subscriptions and one-off purchases are billed by Google Play, and Play's refund policy applies. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; cancel in Google Play. We may change prices, and will say so before a change affects you.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, or on the account deletion page. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms.
The app is provided as it is
We do not promise the app will always be available or free of faults, and we do not screen the people you meet on it.
Use your judgement, especially before meeting anyone in person.
Changes
If we change these terms materially we will ask you to accept the new version in the app.
